Walter was born in Hamilton Ontario in 1879 and studied at the Hamilton Art School, the Art Students' League in New York City, the Polytechnic Institute in London. He worked as a commercial artist and was a founding member of the Graphic Arts Club in 1904.
Walter was a print maker and also a painter who worked in oil and watercolour. His subjects include portraits, buildings and landscapes especially of the Georgian Bay and Algonquin Park areas.
His work is represented in the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa and he exhibited with the Royal Canadian Academy and the Art Association of Montreal.
Walter Duff passed away in 1967.
